Hello everyone. As most of you know, since the birth of my granddaughter Mia I have been directing my fundraising and volunteer efforts to support Cystic Fibrosis research initiatives.I will again be participating in the C.F. Great Strides walk again this year, Saturday May 18th. I have been fortunate in the past to have some of you join me for the walk and in addition to this so many of you have found it in your heart to donate very generously, and thank you for that. I was hoping to impose on all of you once again to support my walk and this cause in any manner that you feel comfortable with, donate to C.F. research, join me for the walk or just offer words of support and encouragement, everything helps and is appreciated.
Mia is five years old now. Since the last time I wrote an update about Mia’s progress she was prescribed the much heralded new drug that was sometimes stated to be a “Miracle Drug” when in fact it was really not a cure.Somehow that seems to be how many people perceived the advertisement of this new treatment. Unfortunately along with the new treatment also came with a laundry list of side effects some of which Mia and many others seem to have suffered from and she has been taken off of this treatment.
Daughter Hilary continues to work on the committee that conduct the yearly C.F. Gala. My friends that work in the Wood Studio with me again created items to be auctioned off at the C.F. Gala. I hope these items helped with the fundraising efforts of that event, they never tell us how thing went so I can only hope our effort was appreciated.
The poster that I created of the Pagoda Motorcycle Club was a huge success, it even morphed in to being printed on tee shirts and all of the proceeds of the poster and shirt sales went to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Fantastic effort Pagoda friends you guys are the best. My plan is to make this a yearly activity but unfortunately I haven’t been feeling very creative lately, hopefully I will find some inspiration and again create something everyone will enjoy and be willing to donate to own.
Thanks again for all of your valued friendship and support.
Sincerely, Stephen M. Weber
For my friends that aren't sure what C.F. is about here is their prepared blurb:
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts. Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
Real progress has been for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Please consider making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Please support me!
