Team Zachary Rumm walk on SUNDAY, JUNE 7 at the WESTERVILLE SPORTS COMPLEX at 11 AM. This park is right across the street from the Westerville Community Center and it’s where they do the Field of Heroes with all the American flags each year. Park address is 325 N Cleveland Ave, Westerville, 43082. This park has really wide walking paths and there are always families with strollers walking on it too, so this should be a good place to do it.
We’ll make sure to do some group photos and post them to the virtual walk’s FB page to show our support. They’re really encouraging teams to have their own “mini walk” and post photos to the page.
Ray, I’ll get a hold of you about our team sign. If the family and you are coming, I’ll obviously just have you bring it. If you’re not able to come, then I’ll just pick it up before the walk day.
I meant to have a place already picked out, but “if” anyone is interested, we can grab some lunch and drinks afterwards at a place nearby with a lot of outdoor seating. I’ll try to figure out a place nearby with plenty of outdoor seating and then I’ll update the group.
You don’t have to, but if you want to register, RSVP, or donate to the team, the links are above. They haven’t sent out additional information yet, but my understanding is they’re still going to mail out t-shirts to people donating $100 or more. I’ll get more info about that and post it. Looking forward to seeing anyone that can make it on June 7!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, indoor events sponsored by the CF Foundation are strictly prohibited at this time. Scheduled outdoor events must adhere to strict requirements to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection. Events may be subject to change at any time based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health officials.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON ATTENDANCE AT OUTDOOR FOUNDATION EVENTS:
To minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection, attendees at CF Foundation events must adhere to the following requirements:
Practice physical distancing and maintain at least a safe 6-foot distance from persons outside of their household at all times
Face masks strongly encouraged and expected to be worn in accordance with local guidelines. (Note, children under two years of age should not wear masks due to safety concerns and therefore should not attend CF Foundation events where there is risk of interacting with someone outside of their household.)
Follow basic infection, prevention and control practices by regularly washing hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Persons with CF should consult their physician before participation in any in-person event as they may be at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. People with CF should maintain a safe 6-foot distance from persons outside of their household at all times.
