Hi there! I'm Kaitlin, a 29-year-old living with Cystic Fibrosis. I was diagnosed at 6 months old and have been fighting CF ever since. #CFWarrior
Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that affects primarily the lungs, but other organs such as the pancreas and liver. Due to a protein malfunction, people with CF produce thick, sticky mucus that can build up in the lungs like cement. With the inability to excrete it properly, this leads to infections and inflammation causing scarring on the lungs.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis. They are people just like you! Moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day to "Just Breathe". I walk for them, I walk for ME! I invite you to walk with us and help us in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. You can join our Great Strides team here!
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We've come so far, but there's still so much work to do. I will not stop striding until all those with Cystic Fibrosis have a cure. Join me in fighting CF! Please consider donating to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
