Team Black Duck - Racing for a Cure is joining forces with Team B'More this year in our fund raising efforts. In 2018 the Sailing Vessel S/V Black Duck raced in three regattas in support of fund-raising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 2019, I sold Black Duck, but her sister-ship, the S/V Morrighan raced in two regattas under the Team Black Duck banner.
This year, my new boat - the S/V Nikommo will assume the Team Black Duck mantle and will race in two/three regattas this year. Next week, (Aug 1 and 2) Team Black Duck will race in the Virginia Govenors Cup Regatta. We are tentatively going to take the S/V Morrighan to the "Mountain Mama Hospice Regatta" in Rainelle,WV. the middle of August, and if there is a Good Old Boat Regatta this October, we may race there as well.
Last year the S/V Morrighan kicked butt at the Virginia Govenors Cup Regatta scoring first-place in two races and a 2nd place. We're hoping S/V Nikommo carries on the tradition!
I am fund-raising in honor of Camden Rivers, my cousin's grandson. Camden is now in college, and is physically doing well. Like all CF'ers he's had his ups and downs with his health, but he is a fighter. So, support Team Black Duck and contribute using the links on the page. In this age of the pandemic we can't all meet and walk, but we can contribute and help make CF stand for Cure Found.
