Hi! My name is Amy and I'm a 39 year old Double Delta CF patient and Double lung transplant recipient. My husband Matt and I have been fighting CF together for 12 years, and are beyond excited for the new treatment options available to so many CF warriors out there. But the work isn't done, there are still many patients with gene combinations that prevent them from benefiting. And of course, we still don't have cure.
I received my gift of life on March 13, 2017 when I underwent a double lung transplant. I have am now able to experience breathing for the first time in my life, and it's absolutely incredible. I want that for every CF patient out there, but without having to undergo a risky surgery that isn't a cure. I will be taking anti rejection meds for the rest of my life, and am very susceptible to infection. I also constantly fear the day when my body begins rejecting these beautiful new breathers. So Matt and I continue to raise awareness and funding to benefit research for better treatment options and ultimately, a cure.
If you are in a position that you are able to donate, even a small amount, it will truly be appreciated.
Your participation will help us get one step closer to ending this terrible disease. Let's make CF stand for Cure Found.
