“In a gentle way, you can shake the world”.
This maxim drives Sean to give his all in transforming the lives of people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
I have always been compassionate and charitable. However, my real transformation came in 2017 when I was introduced to Grace, a gifted girl diagnosed with CF. Grace epitomized endurance, courage, and positivity amidst the challenge she faced. She spoke boldly to educate other people on what CF was, hoping that they would help find a cure for others, including her brother. Since then, I have been part of the Central NY Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Listening to individuals with Cystic Fibrosis like Grace, you realize that life is a struggle for them. Cystic Fibrosis robs them of their childhood joy. Their schedule includes taking several medications each day, adhering to strict nutrition and exercise, and using a nebulizer. Worse still, they have to deal with recurrent infections, which cause them to miss school and to be away from their friends.
Support, volunteerism, and philanthropy are paying off day after day. Remarkable medical advances such as the development of the 2019 modular therapy, Trifakta may help up to 90% of people with CF. However, for Grace and others who suffer from specific mutations of CF, the condition remains incurable. Therefore, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation needs collective efforts at every facet to eliminate CF. Sean believes that CF can stand for Cure Found due to fundraising efforts that boost medical research, elevating the chance of finding a cure for all.
I have also been part of 65 Roses, Great Strides, CF Golf Classic, Tomorrow’s Leaders, and a board president of the Central New York Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Annual Fund. I and also involved on the national board for Tomorrow Leaders, where young leaders help transform their societies through research, empowerment, and charity. In addition, I have been rewarded with honors such as Champion for a Cure for Cure, Hero of Hope, and CF Volunteer of the Year.
I am a member of Nave Law Firm, where I work as the Chief Operating Officer. The Law Firm shares my values and vision of putting people before profits and finding solutions to solve problems people face every day.
My life out of office is equally gratifying. Sean treasures every moment I spend with my wife, Danielle, and our two beautiful daughters, Rylee and Dylan. The best thing to come out of the quarantine period is to spend more time with family. The worst thing has been explaining to the children the effects of the pandemic.
