I'm fighting for my daughter Ellie. She was diagnosed at 1month old and it was a shock to everyone. She is our first child and the first in the family to have CF. My husband and I did not know that we were carriers. Finding out that your child has cystic fibrosis is a feeling I can not describe and a feeling I wish for nobody to experience. To be told your child would have to fight every day of their lives just to keep the most basic functions of their body working (something yourself take for granted) and that there is currently no cure is one of the most helpless feelings I think anyone can experience.
But that changes and giving up is not an option. I am an advocate for Ellie and will fight with her.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them too and hope you will support me in my efforts. They are truly amazing people with what they have to do.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
