In 2019 I got to dance with my son at his wedding just days after his 31st birthday!!!!
And I really believe it is because CF parents like ourselves made the decision to get involved in fundraising events that support the CF Foundation, like Great Strides.
When Greg was newly diagnosed in 1988, we were told that the average lifespan for a child with CF was 20. At about the same time, the CF gene was discovered. The CF Foundation was already working on developing new medications, and this discovery has helped create medicines that work more accurately for patients. The prognosis for CF patients is getting better, but there still is no cure.
Greg works hard at keeping himself healthy, and knowing that there is research and development of new treatments going on, we want the best options to be available when he needs them.
We have been fortunate that Greg has been able to live an active life, go to school and graduate college, get a job and now get married to a very special young woman, Elise Bautista.
I will continue to Stride until a cure is found -- please help me reach my fundraising goal!
