Team Lindsay's Lungs had a great year in 2019. We raised $2,200 last year and have raised just over $12,000 to date. WOW- We are thankful and blessed to have dedicated family and friends who have supported us along the way.
Last year, a new medication for CF called Trikafta was approved for use by people with CF who have at least one copy of the delta F508 gene who are over the age of 13. We are in the process of working with our CF team to see if this is right for Lindsay. It is a very expensive medication which costs annually over $200,000. This medication is made more affordable by financial supplementation by the CF Foundation. They were also instrumental in the research leading up to this drug’s development!

Important note on Attendance at Foundation Events:
Infections can exacerbate CF symptoms and worsen lung function, so we ask attendees at Foundation-sponsored events to observe the following best practices to reduce the risk of germ transmission:
Regularly wash hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your inner elbow.
Maintain a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection.
To further reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation’s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. All Great Strides walks are non-smoking events.
