"Walkers with a Will" was started by Timothy "TJ" Kastner
TJ is the Team Leader and I the Co- Team Leader, as TJ will always and forever be the Team Leader of "Walkers with a Will". I have attended and participated in the Great Strides walk for more than 10 years, with or without a team to show my support for TJ and to CF. We are dedicated to playing a part in the efforts of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to find a cure.
TJ would want the team to continue to help others with CF by walking in Great Strides, continuing to volunteer, raise as much money as possible for further research, medications, treatments and some day a cure as well as raise general awareness of what Cystic Fibrosis is and how it affects the lives of the people who have it and their families. TJ was a big part of our lives and he will never be forgotten and neither will his dream of Making "CF" stand for Cure Found.
A little about the Team Leader: TJ was born on March 7, 1981 and we lost TJ to Cystic Fibrosis on April 9, 2015. TJ was 34 years old, he did not get the chance to find that special someone and get married or have children. But TJ loved children so very much. The last couple of years TJ had been getting sicker, more frequent visits to the hospital and put on Oxygen. It was a struggle for him to get out of bed some days, but he fought, he fought with all he had. TJ was a kind man who wanted to help those that were suffering as he was with CF. TJ was last able to walk in Great Strides in 2008 when he started this team. Since then he has not had the strength to walk the 5k, but he supported me and other team members from afar. We know that TJ will be with us in the years to come, he will be walking with us in spirit at the head of the team like the leader that he is.
Please help Tim to help other CF sufferers by donating to the team. Our Team has a goal of $5000.00 this year, we would love to exceed this goal, and you can help.
Every dollar counts in the Fight Against CF, so your support and generosity are appreciated.
Together we can make "CF" stand for Cure Found, and make TJ's dream and wish come true.

Foundation-Sponsored Indoor and Outdoor Events and Gatherings
The Foundation is closely following the evolving coronavirus outbreak. We will continue to monitor coronavirus guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and assess whether we need to change any scheduled events.
To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow, and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact, as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function.
To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation's attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to attend the indoor portion of a Foundation-sponsored event at a specific time. For the outdoor portion, the Foundation recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times.
