Our Great Strides Story
Our team is driven by our love for Dutton; a son, grandson, great-nephew, nephew, and precious to us all! At just 10 days old, Dutton was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease, that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Overtime, it can cause persistent lung infections, and limits the ability to breathe. As of today, there is not a cure for CF.
Dutton is about to celebrate his second birthday. His daily routine consists of two enzymes before any feeding along with multivitamins to help absorb and digest the nutrients. He receives chest psychotherapy ( vibrating vest) for 25 minutes twice a day accompanied with an albuterol and pulmozyme treatments to help break away any mucus in his airways. This year, Dutton started a new drug called Orkambi taken twice daily to help improve his quality of life.
Every three months, Dutton’s visits the “CF team” (consisting of seven different doctors, nurses, social worker, etc.) to keep a close watch over his progress and discuss any new treatments/medication’s to keep him healthy as can be.
Dutton is a happy, beautiful little boy who brings joy to us all! Please help us support him and others that deal with this awful disease.
We appreciate your support, love and prayers.
Thank you!
