Hi again! We are gearing up for another Great Strides Walk!
First things first, a little update on our headliner, Luke!
He has been doing incredible and continues to be hospital stay free and makes his family, friends, and doctors very proud! Trikafta was started in June. This medication corrects the mutated gene to function properly. This medication has been a GAME CHANGER for people with CF showing great results and is changing lives big time. He still does his vest and nebulizer therapy, but was recently told that he can drop it down from twice to once a day as long as he’s staying healthy. Luke is very excited about this . He is still a beast in taking 20+ pills a day. We had some hiccups with his liver enzymes and glucose, so we worked with GI and things are now looking good with no damage done to his liver or concern of CF related diabetes. This kids diligence, disciple and willingness to do all of these things to stay healthy is admirable. To honor his hard work Luke was granted a Wish! For his Make-A-Wish he chose Florida to experience Universal, Sea World and of course, Disney! We are grateful for this opportunity to create core memories!
We hope you’re able to join us and show your support for Luke on walk day, it means a lot!!
The Milwaukee Great Strides CF walk will be on Sunday, May 19th. The opening ceremony starts at 10:30 with the walk starting at 11 with lunch to follow.
