Although progress is being made, there are approximately 40,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe.
And, of course there is our grandson, Drew.
Drew was diagnosed at 10 days old and is now 17 years old and becoming a wonderful young man. He participates in High School activities such as in-line hockey and tennis. He also works part-time at a local business.
The life-expectancy for people with CF has risen from 18 to over 50 due to quality research and caring teams of doctors and caregivers. However, NEW research is now needed to address the issues of CF into adulthood and those not benefitting from current treatments.
Drew's Crew will again be walking in the Great Strides Walk on May 20. This event raises money for research aimed towards a cure!
Will you join our team or make a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today! We are grateful for any contribution to our cause.
