I stride as a member of the Board of Directors of the WPA Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and as a father of a CF fighter. It’s hard to believe that my journey with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation began 29 years ago, after my son, Alex’s, birth, at a Great Strides fundraiser in Florida. Times have changed in the past 29 years, and I am happy to report that Alex is doing GREAT! He has finished his Masters Degree, is renovating a home and teaching at Winter Springs High School. Thankfully, Alex responded perfectly to Trikafta, a medication that he was involved with as a member of the early phases CFF sponsored trials. This breakthrough medication has helped many, but not all who suffer the effects of Cystic Fibrosis. Thus, we continue with fund raising until adequate therapeutics are available for all.
Raising funds for my favorite non-profit can become a bit tiring after 29 years! So, I decided to focus all my fund raising efforts on one event per year. This year I am focusing my energies on the Great Strides event, and am hosting a Team for NexTier Bank employees and friends. NexTier will continue to be a corporate sponsor of this event, and I invite employees and friends alike to join me in walking this 5-K event on the morning of May 14th at Point State Park.
Please support me!
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal!
