I walk for my sister Nicole who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 2 1/2. At the time we didn't know the exact cause of the disease and we were told that the life expectancy at thtat time was 19 year old.
Thanks to the amazing medical care she has received and the huge advancements in medical research (largely funded by the CF Foundation), Nicole is now 35 years old! Although Nicole has enjoyed relatively good health for most of her life, the disease has gradually taken its toll. I have always been passionate about raising funds to find a cure but have a much greater sense of urgency today!
I walk for my sister Nicole and the approximately 30,000 other Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. I know you all have many demands for your hard earned money but I hope you will considered a donation of any amount to support our cause. The CF Foundation is leading the way in the fight against CF, fueling extraordinary medical and scientific progress. With support from people like us, their research has led the way in the last 30 years to doubling the life expectancy of those with CF. In spite of this progress, many patients cannot benefit from treatments. We are joining together so that one day they will have a cure for all of those living with cystic fibrosis.
