My connection to CF is as personal as I can get withouth having CF myself. My husband has CF. We have been married now for almost 15 years and dated for 7 before that. That's 22 years of his doctor's appointments, coughs that get worse and won't go away, daily nebulized treatments, daily chest PT, multiple lung infections, and even evaluation for lung transplant. That's 22 years of love and committment, twin boys and then another boy, three dogs, three houses, many jobs, and plenty of joy and laughter. We have learned to live with the first set of milestones while we cherish the second set.
However, 22 years isn't enough for me. I'm not content with anything less than a lifetime of those positive milestones. So we walk. We walk and raise funds and raise awareness for cystic fibrosis so that we can have a lifetime. This is our team's 9th annual walk and we need your support.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
First, we walk in Altoona on May 11th at 11am. We would love for your support in walking. Sign up and fundraise through your friends and family to help spread the word that we are working to change the meaning of CF to Cure Found.
Second, we need your financial support to fund the research that is already so close to a cure!! We have seen it first hand as Jon has participated in numerous research studies, with the most recent having AMAZING results, like cure found results. But that medication is still in trials and isn't yet ready to head to the FDA for approval. More research means funds are needed.
Every penny counts so please consider donating, if you aren't able to join us in walking. Any amount counts!
