There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?
My team and I walk for my daughter Ashley. She turned 33 in December.. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was born. She takes many medications and treatments daily. She also has many doctors appointments to go to. This is part of her daily life to help keep her healthy. She tries to keep active and continues to work as much as she can. She is currently taking Trikafta a new drug that through research with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been approved by the FDA and is able to correct the defect caused by the CF gene. It has had amazing results! Ashley has been taking it since it was approved by the FDA. It has helped her lung functions to improve and she has not been hospitalized since she has been taking it. Most importantly she now has a little girl that is 2 1/2 yrs old. She is able to keep up with the her and have a somewhat normal life now. It is so amazing!
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop striding until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. Will you join me? Please consider donating to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
