Dear Friends,
My brother, Justin, was born with Cystic Fibrosis - a rare genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems. Over 13 years ago, Justin experienced a rapid progression of the disease. He was hours from dying. In order to save his life, he received a double lung transplant. Today he is very healthy and working diligently to tell his story. We are hopeful that a cure will be found so others do not have a similar experience.
CF research has made great strides since 1979 when Justin was born. Justin wasn't expected to live through high school. He turns 42 this week!
The FDA continues to approve drugs that treat the underlying cause of CF. The science behind these drugs has opened exciting new doors to research and development that may eventually lead to a cure for all people living with CF. Above all, critical CF research and trials are conducted right here in Buffalo at the Lung Center at Women and Children’s Hospital. Cutting edge research is happening in Buffalo and you can be a part of it!
The challenge we have is that the science is expensive and we need help raising funds to conduct the research and trials.
Here’s how you can help:
- Donate to our walk team. Your charitable contribution is 100 percent tax deductible and more than 90 cents of every dollar raised by the CF Foundation is used to support its vital research programs. To donate, click on the button at the top of this web page. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated!
- Share this link. Ask your family and friends to join us in making CF = Cure Found!
Thank you for your continued support, friendship and love.
Love,
Jessica
