Our daughter, Avery, has cystic fibrosis. She is a spunky, hilarious, life-loving 12-year-old, and if you know her, you'd agree that she deserves a long, long life. Because of CF, she was born with a non-functioning pancreas; this requires her to swallow enzyme capsules before she eats anything in order to absorb nutrients and digest food. However, CF is a progressive disease, so this is just the beginning; it's only a matter of time before the mucus that has clogged her pancreas begins clogging her lungs, interfering with her ability to breathe. This could lead to an eventual lung transplant, which we are hoping to avoid by raising funds to fuel life-saving research. We are doing this Great Strides walk for Avery, and we hope you will support us in our efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to make this orphan disease visible with a mission to fund research to find a cure.
Please support Avery!
Help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to our Great Strides fundraising campaign. Your gift will help add tomorrows for our sweet Avery by supporting life-saving research and medical progress. Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
Thank you so much, You have no idea how much your life-saving donation means to our family.
Well, maybe you do, but we cannot thank you enough.
Love, Heidi
