You might have seen this article (https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2024/04/cystic-fibrosis-trikafta-breakthrough-treatment/677471/) from the Atlantic about CF after Trikafta.

I think the article tracks closely with the experience of Meagan, who is lucky enough to benefit from it. It has drastically improved here symptoms and outlook, but also surfaced issues we tended to downplay over the primary concern of the main symptoms of the disease.

So, I continue to walk, so that:

1. ​We can develop treatments that work for all CF patients
2. We can improve on these treatments to make them more effective, have fewer doses, and fewer side effects.
3. We can provide support for CF patients as they adjust to the new (pleasant reality).

So I hope you can join me this Sunday, May 19 at Seattle Center as we continue to take Great Strides for a cure.

My Great Strides Story

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Great Strides, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.

Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.  

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
