This is our 17th year of participating in Great Strides and raising money towards research. I would have never believed the changes that would occur over the years. From enzymes to inhaled antibiotics to medications to effecting gene proteins with genetics. Reduced hospitalization to none for us in the last 5 years !! We continue to raise money for all CFers so that they will too see positive changes in their lives.
Karlie, now 20, is excited about her journey in the radiology tech program. She uses her past experiences in clinicals. She continues to be full of life, enjoys spending time with family and friends. She will be the first to tell you CF does not run her life, she runs it. Karlie still continues to maintain her healthy life with daily airway clearance treatments, meds for digestion and nighttime feedings for healthy body weight. We are so blessed to see her grow and carry on her own dreams.
Ella, 14, has outgrown her adult sisters. She has a love for basketball and dirt bike racings. She enjoys camping with family and friends and makes sure our dog Sadie is along for every adventure. Ella continues to use an insulin pump and is very grateful for less needle sticks!
If you would have told us 18 years ago that we would be at this point with these girls, I would have had little faith. Our GOD always has a plan and we should alway have faith in that. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that. We have seen many changes over the years and we will continue to raise money for fellow CFers to have better outlooks on life like our family. We are so blessed and grateful for all the support and continued prayers and support we receive.
