MY WHY: So that every child living with cystic fibrosis will have the opportunity to experience a long life full of magnificent moments. Please support me as I once again participate in the Great Strides walk by donating to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

What is cystic fibrosis? CF is a genetic disease that affects many organs, most often the lungs and pancreas.

How do you cure CF? While there still is no cure for this devastating disease, a breakthrough treatment was approved by the FDA in late 2019 that could potentially improve the lives of 90% of the CF population. On the heels of that approval, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation announced PATH TO A CURE, an ambitious research agenda to accelerate treatments and find the cure for all people living with CF.

Who is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation? Faced with insurmountable odds, but determined to save the lives of their children, a group of concerned parents came together to form the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) in 1955. At the time, very little was known about cystic fibrosis, but the tenacity and strength of these families laid the groundwork for monumental progress in research, care, and treatment of this rare disease. Today the CFF is the world leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis and funds more research than any other organization. Nearly every CF treatment and drug available today was made possible because of CFF investments.

What can you do to help? Real progress has been made in the search for treatments and a cure, but the lives of people with cystic fibrosis are still cut far too short. The good news is that the CFF has a robust pipeline of promising potential drugs that target the disease from every angle. This is why I participate every year in the Foundation's largest fundraiser, the Great Strides walk, and continuously bring attention to the lifesaving efforts of the Foundation.
