I walk for my son Ryan. He is now 25 years old. He worked very hard to earn his Eagle Scout by the time he was 16. While in high school he was very active in different sports and clubs. He lettered all four years on the varsity track and cross country teams. He participated in 4-H where he was Young Leader of the Year. He continued his education with a degree with honors in Electronic Engineering Tech. Then he continued his education and graduated in May 2019 with a Criminal Justice Degree from Appalachian State University. He is currently working on his Masters from UNC Pembroke. I am very proud that Ryan has not let this disease define who he is, but has worked very hard to obtain what he wants. He got married in June 2020!
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
