Friends and Family, It’s that time of year again…time for our Great Strides fundraising campaign to begin! Over the course of 12 years, the Peanut Gallery has raised over $140,000! Rest assured your donations are making a very tangible difference throughout the CF community. So much has changed since that first dollar was donated more than a decade ago. When Caroline was born, our hope of having a medication to treat the underlying cause of CF was just a dream. Now, it is a reality for many patients with Cystic Fibrosis. We are thrilled to announce that trials are wrapping up for a new triple combination drug that should be available to Caroline in 2020. This means fewer side effects, even healthier lungs and an overall improved quality of life not only for Caroline, but for 90% of the CF population! We pray the medical advances being made will keep Caroline from ever knowing the wrath of this life shortening disease. For now, this couldn’t be truer! Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Caroline is able to get out there and enjoy all that life has to offer. Right now, that includes a lot of time crafting, drawing, playing outside, reading and loving on her pet hamster. Simple pleasures that we don’t take for granted. We have so much tangible hope that she doesn’t spend her time worrying about her future. She looks forward to it! She wants to get married, have four children, become a school teacher and travel to Hawaii. The truth is… your ongoing support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation drives the medical advances that ultimately help make those dreams come true! So thank you for giving us hope. Thank you for giving Caroline a life where she can not only enjoy her childhood, but also have dreams for the future. Thank you for choosing to join the fight against Cystic Fibrosis! Life doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be lived! And that is just what we intend to do thanks to the many people who continue to support our fight against CF. Bless you! Team Toole-

Foundation-Sponsored Indoor and Outdoor Events and Gatherings
The Foundation is closely following the evolving coronavirus outbreak. We will continue to monitor coronavirus guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and assess whether we need to change any scheduled events.
To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow, and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact, as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function.
To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation's attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to attend the indoor portion of a Foundation-sponsored event at a specific time. For the outdoor portion, the Foundation recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times.
