Their story:
As you are probably aware, Vida and Soren were born with Cystic Fibrosis (an inherited chronic disease that affects their lungs). Both continue to doctor at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison and have regular checkups. They are finally able to take the drug Trikafta, which has drastically changed their lives. Both Vida and Soren have been able to cut down on daily chest therapy and nebulizer treatments by simply taking this one oral medication that has been a "miracle drug". It is the first of its kind to treat the underlying cause of CF and not just the symptoms.
Vida is 11 and is in the sixth grade. She loves riding horse, Chipotle, Starbucks. volleyball, and playing with our dog Reggie. Soren is 6 and in first grade. He loves the grinch, shoveling snow, snakes and chocolate milk.
Throughout the last eleven years, team “Chute for a Cure” has raised more than $90,000 for the CFF. In October, we were asked to speak at the CF Gala in Milwaukee and helped raise over $180,000 that night. We are still working toward, praying for, and believing that a cure will be found. All donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will help add tomorrows to the lives of adults and children living with this disease. Along with your support, the CFF, our doctors, and God, we know that Vida and Soren will be cured. We thank you so much for your love, prayers, kind words, and support.
Love,
Rusty, Shannon, Vida, Devan, and Soren Chute (& Reggie)
