My Great Strides Story
My Great Strides story goes back roughly 25 years from the time my family began our own Great Strides Walk in little Jefferson, Georgia. The suburb of Athens soon made way for the Walk to move there and eventually join back in with Atlanta over time since the community was growing so fast and becoming so interconnected. Now I have the honor to represent my family and this year also perform fundraising efforts as a 2023 CF Regional Ambassador for South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. I walk for them.
