There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. One of them is our neighbor's child, Allison. We remember the day Allison was born and feel like she is one of our own children. We love her so much and are very proud of how well she handles her excessive treatments and long hospital stays. She is a currently in nursing school at The University of South Carolina this year so that she can help others. Allison has had enough hospital stays to know what makes a great nurse, and she will certainly be one!
There have been SO many advances in the last couple of years. Research is helping to provide new treatment options and life expectancy for CF patients continues to be on the rise. For example, Allison is on the newest CF drug, Trikafta, and it has really improved her breathing. We dream of the day when CF stands for "Cure Found."
Help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Great Strides fundraising campaign.
