My Great Strides Story
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
My younger sister Fiona was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Growing up, I have seen the extent to which CF has impacted her life. She has to take pills before every meals, do multiple lung treatments a day, and take various safety precautions to avoid getting sick.
I have always admired Fiona's continued positivity and perserverence throughout her CF treatments. While new treatments have made amazing progress, they are not yet a cure and they are not always accessible to everyone who needs them.
By participating in Great Strides, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF. We must not stop until 'CF' stands for 'Cure Found.'
