Since 2012, we have participated in the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis. We have been raising awareness and funds for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. This has become an important cause to our family because Khaleb was born with this terminal disease.
Although it may not look like it, but Khaleb has to fight for every breathe he takes. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that attacks the digestive and respiratory systems of the body. It produces thick mucus that clogs the airways of the lungs, making it difficult to breathe. The production of this mucus occurs in other organs of the body as well.
Because Khaleb's outside does not look like the fight that his insides are going through, people don't either acknowledge or understand how serious his illness is. NO IT IS NOT A BAD CASE OF ASTHMA!!!
So we need events like the Great Strides Walk to help raise awareness and funding so we can terminate this deadly disease. Please join us by donating or signing up to be a walker. You can walk with us virtually and raise funds online.
How ever you choose to support, know that WE APPRECIATE YOU!
