In Rowan's four short years of life, he has spent over 1300 hours completing breathing and vest treatments to keep his lungs healthy and prevent infections. These treatments are essential to his health and enable him to live a relatively normal life, giving him the energy to run, play, and enjoy life as ALL children love and deserve to do.
Despite all his preventive treatments, he underwent his first CF-related surgery in January for severe nasal polyposis. In the three-hour surgery several polyps in both nasal cavities were removed as well as his adenoids. The polyps were extensive, obstructing both his sinuses and nasal passages, leaving him with restricted airflow. The improvement post-surgery has been amazing. His energy levels have increased, and sleeping has improved. He was a trooper before and after surgery. We were and continue to be so proud of his resilience.
Rowan is doing his part to maintain his health, and the CF Foundation is doing its part to find him a cure. Please join us as we do our part. Support our team Rally for Rowan as we bring awareness and raise funds to forward the effort to find a cure for Rowan and everyone living with Cystic Fibrosis.
We are excited to participate in the 2023 Great Strides CF walk scheduled for April 29th at Wannamaker Park in Charleston, SC. We invite family and friends to join us and team Rally for Rowan.
