Piper was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis just before she turned a month old. Since then she has grown into a fun loving 9 year old! She enjoys going to school (especially chorus and challenge class), watching movies (Harry Potter and Star Wars are her favs!) and she just started taking Tae Kwon Do. She still loves to draw, color, dance and to play on the computer. Piper has remained in good health due to all the support of her doctors and nurses. For the past two and a half years, Piper has been a part of the 6-12 year old Symdecko study where we have been traveling to MUSC in Charleston every three months. While these visits are sometimes long and full of labs/tests, she perseveres through all of it. She continues to grow and to be a continuous light in our lives.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
