It's been over 20 years since Grace's first GreatStrdies walk and we have made tremendous progress in our collective fight against the life threatening effects of her disease. When Grace was born in 2002, the predicted median survival age for individuals born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) was 32.7 years. Today, the survival age is in the 50's. While there is still much work to be done, we are winning the battle against this disease. In the United States, more than 30,000 people are living with CF and over half of them are adults. This progress would not have been possible without the support of friends and family like you.
The advancements in CF treatments have directly impacted Grace's life and she is hopeful for her future. Grace just completed her Sophomore year at Oklahoma State University and is looking forward to completing her education. There was a time in her life that we were unsure this day would come. Thank you to everyone who has supported the foundation's efforts to enhance and improve her life!
While we are thankful for the tremendous improvements in CF treatments and therapies, we know that our work is not done. The foundation will continue to work to provide effective therapies for all those will CF and will not stop until we achieve our ultimate goal of curing this disease.
The 2023 GreatStrides walk will be held on Saturday, May 20th. Please join Grace in her fight against CF by sponsoring her at this year's walk. Thank you for all that you've done and continue to do for individuals with Cystic Fibrosis!
