#nothowispentmysenioryear Think about how you spent your senior year of high school. You probably attended parties, completed college applications, hung out with friends, had late night study sessions, etc. Ashton's senior year has been filled with multiple surgeries, nightly tube feedings, a few ER visits, hours hooked to machines to keep his lungs healthy and countless doctor visits. Ashton turned 18 in March and will graduate high school in June. He has endured so much this year. His CF related diabetes has taken a turn for the worse. He started using an insulin pump in March and is now continually hooked up to his pump and a continuous glucose monitor. Another nasty complication due to CF.
Lola still takes 35 pills every day, continues to succeed in middle school and faithfully does all of her vest and sinus treatments to stay out of the hospital. We feel that the latest drug from Vertex has been doing wonderful things for her body. She's growing tall and beautiful--full of confidence and smarts!
We hope you can join us on May 19 (day before my birthday!!) at Moonlight Beach. Ask your friends to sponsor you or make a donation to our team. Without donations, the research won't happen. So much work is needed to find a cure. Thank you so much!!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, indoor events sponsored by the CF Foundation are strictly prohibited at this time. Scheduled outdoor events must adhere to strict requirements to minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection. Events may be subject to change at any time based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health officials.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON ATTENDANCE AT OUTDOOR FOUNDATION EVENTS:
