I’m taking on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Surf & Turf 65 Rose’s Challenge. I have a goal to raise $6500 to support CF Research and Support for those with CF. My Grandson Jase is 6 years old and one of the strongest people I know. Jase has two very rare mutations that the CFTR modulators don’t help. He is one of those in the last 10% that we need to find help for.
I am walking/hiking everyday for 65 days to raise funds for this much needed life sustaining research. Along with that, if I reach my goal of $6500 by Oct 5th, 2020, I will let Jase and his parents shave my head. I haven’t had a haircut in almost 6 months. As well as my Beard and mustache for the last 21 years.
There still is no cure for this devastating disease and even those with the game changing CFTR Modulator drugs still have a daily fight.
Our ability to raise awareness and funds is tough this year with the COVID virus, it has all but eliminated our ability to fund raise, but we are finding ways to stay involved through virtual connections and efforts like this challenge. Follow my progress on my Facebook page
