I’m taking on the Great Strides challenge and set a goal to raise $2500 to support CF Research and Support for those with CF. My Grandson Jase is 6 years old and one of the strongest people I know. Jase has two very rare mutations that the CFTR modulators don’t help. He is one of those in the last 10% that we need to find help for.
We are entering our 8th year of supporting Great Strides and raising money to find a cure for Jase and those with CF. This last year has been very hard on so many with the COVID pandemic. Where a mask, keeping safe distances from others is all part of the life of someone with CF, COVID just made it even harder. We went virtual last year due to COVID and we are again going virtual for Great Strides this year. I am walking/hiking with the goal of reaching 65 miles, if you remeber last year we walked for 65 Days. This year we are walking to go 65 Miles by May 15th to raise funds for this much needed life sustaining research.
There still is no cure for this devastating disease and even those with the game changing CFTR Modulator drugs still have a daily fight.
Our ability to raise awareness and funds remains tough this year with the COVID virus still effecting all our loives. It has changed our ability to fund raise, but we are finding ways to stay involved through virtual connections and efforts like this challenge. I'll be posting on Facebook and Instagram of my walks, follow me, and occasionally I'll do a FB Live/Video.
You too can join the fight by learning more about CF, following my FB page, telling others and Donating to our cause.
