Imagine not having the choice...the choice of inheriting a chronic, life-threatening disease. Imagine not having the choice of weeks, even months of hospitalizations. Not having the choice of whether or not to take pills before each and every meal or snack that you eat. Not having the choice of having to wear a vest multiple times a day that constantly and vigorously vibrates your chest. Not having the choice of wearing a mask that forces stinky, nasty tasting medication deep into your lungs. Not having the choice of flushing salt water up your nose twice a day. Not having the choice of being poked with needles to either take blood out, replace fluids or give even more medicine. Now imagine having to constantly wash your hands. Constantly be aware of who is smoking in the area that you are in . Constantly having to be aware of who may be sick around you. Constantly focusing on the type of food and amount that you are consuming. Constantly stepping on the scale to make sure that you are maintaining a healthy, hearty weight. Constantly having to be aware of when your last bowel movement was and what it "looked" like. Constantly, routinely, always, always, always focusing on your health to be able to do it all over again the next day...God willing!! This, my friends, is the life of Cystic Fibrosis. This is Karsyn's normalcy.
Parenting a child with an incurable disease is a constant, unrelenting battle. CF is not only physically debilitating, but carries a heavy financial and psychological burden for our family. Dealing with the uncertainty of the longevity of Karsyn's life is the most difficult. We want Karsyn to experience the same lifetime opportunities most of us are fortunate to share. This is why I am extremely determined to fight CF and help my daughter live!
We still have our purple Karsyn's Krew shirts available for a small donation of $15. If you would like a shirt, please call me, text or email me anytime, and I would be happy to send you one. And as always, if you have any type of fundraising idea to share or would like to organize a fundraising event on behalf of Karsyn, I am ALWAYS willing to have help!! Contact me anytime: 760-815-1100 or Karenas31gifts@yahoo.com.
Keep in mind that there is NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING for CF research. It is up to all of us! This walk and the monies raised will lead to great things for Karsyn's future as well as the 30,000+ that battle this disease daily!
Please support us!
