Karsyn's Krew for the Kure!

  I must express my deepest gratitude to each of you for being an integral part of our team and for your unwavering love and support for Karsyn and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation over the last 16 years. Sixteen years... can you believe it? It's astounding to think that Karsyn will be driving this year – things are certainly getting real! But let me take a moment to reflect. The opportunities that Karsyn has, and the promise of more to come, are all thanks to your efforts. Your dedication to fundraising over these years is why Karsyn is here today, living a thriving, joyful, and healthy life. I cannot thank you enough. Yet, our battle continues. A cure for CF has not been found. Karsyn still undergoes chest percussion therapy twice daily (sometimes four times when ill), takes nebulized medications twice a day, enzymes with every meal, and twelve additional medications with meals and therapy daily. We remain concerned about lung scarring, which could lead to further deterioration, digestive issues, and the risk of bowel obstructions.

     Karsyn has had an incredible year! She graduated 9th grade with a 4.6 GPA, taking three AP classes. She shone as the star in her high school's production of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and excelled on the tennis team. Her commitment even led to her orthodontist agreeing to remove her braces early, thanks to her diligence with rubber bands and appointments. Her radiant smile truly lights up any room.

        This year our family took quite hit with family medical issues, however, Karsyn has still managed to keep her head held high through all of it.  She simply amazes me! She has been the one that keeps us going and helps positivity prevail every day.  With that being said, our fundraising ventures pretty much took a back seat this year.  We have less than a week before our walk to hit out goal.  We are reaching out to you today to ask for your help!          With supporters like you by our side, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to lead the way in the fight against CF, fueling extraordinary medical and scientific progress. The life expectancy of someone born with CF has doubled in the last 30 years. Despite this progress, many people with CF do not benefit from existing therapies either because their disease is too advanced or because their specific genetic mutations will not respond. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day in the face of this devasting disease.
