There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. Oakley is only 1 of the 30,000. That means 30,000 sets of parents have been told their child won't live a long and healthy life. Currently for children born with CF the life expectancy is 46. The money raised during these fundraisers are sent to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which is used to help do research and find medicines to make living with CF easier. Most modular medicines that have came out only help a percentage of those who suffer. CF isn't all the same. There is 1,700 KNOWN CF mutations out there. These modulars are only touching the tip of the ice berg with helping. Each modular has specific mutations you have to have to be able to take.
Please consider donating or walking to help those who struggle daily to breathe.
