We made a commitment over 7 years ago to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help raise money to find a cure for Cysitc Fibrosis because of our son, Marcus. Marcus was diagnosed on April 28, 2011 at 3 months old. Since that time, we have made it our priority to help find a cure for Marcus and the 30,000 other patients living with cystic fibrosis.
Marcus goes up to Akron Children's hospital every 3 months for his checkup and the doctors there are very impressed with his health. He's in the 97% for his weight, at 90+ lbs! He used to take 3 enzymes before every meal. However, with his weight gain and his pancreas working now, they took him off of the enzymes in June of 2014. He is given The Vest treatment twice a day. We increase the vest treatment when he's sick up to 4 times a day.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Great Strides is a fun, family-friendly event that raises awareness and support for people with CF and their families.
