I will be walking again in the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis walk in May to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event.
Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.
As some of you know, the biggest reason I walk is for my 13-year-old niece, Colette, who has Cystic Fibrosis. I walk for Colette and the many others fighting this disease and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Colette is a strong little girl but she is very tired of being sick and having to take pills and do treatments every day.
Colette is one of a kind. She is so funny. She still loves to draw and she loves Irish dancing!!! Her health is always up and down. No matter what, she always has a smile!
I want to thank all my friends and family who have continued to support me each and every year! Real progress has been made in the search for the cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There is no cure for this devastating disease.
By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with Cystic Fibrosis. Please support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today! Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
Thank you so much,
Kelli
