Welcome to our Great Strides fundraiser page!!!
It's hard to believe that this year’s Portland Great Strides Walk is only weeks away. Thomas is nearing the end of his junior year at Westview High School and has spent much of the spring preparing for the ACT and SAT. We’ll be looking into colleges soon, with Oregon State and Portland State as likely contenders. This year has brought several health challenges, and Thomas has taken a more pro-active role in communicating with his teachers and counselors to keep up with his studies and coordinate make-up work and exams. We are extremely fortunate that Thomas is taking the CF medication, Trikafta, which helped him maintain baseline lung function through successive rounds of illness and enabled him to build back. We’re still building back, and the future gets brighter every day.
With the help of therapies like Trikafta and the exceptional care provided by his CF Team, Thomas is finally able to live a life where he may have CF, but CF doesn't define him. Despite the amazing progress, there is still work to do. Trikafta remains unavailable to many CF patients, and there is still no cure for Cystic Fibrosis. New therapies are in development, and your support is needed to see those brought to patients. The promise of a better future for CF patients is why we continue to fight and fundraise.
For every dollar that is donated, 90% goes towards research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Our goal this year is to raise $5,000 and I know we can do it with your help! We want to tell Thomas one day that CF stands for "CURE FOUND!"
Thank you everyone for supporting Team Thomas and the CF community!
