We started Hannah's Helpers when Hannah was just a baby, and are so proud to be able to say that we have raised over $113,000 since we began! A huge thank you to all those that continuously support us and to the new members ... it's because of all of you that we have been so succesful, and we are beyond grateful! Also, a huge shout out to our oldest daughter, Julia who has been a driving force in helping us raise money and awareness!
For those that are not familiar with CF, it is a disease that attacks the lungs and pancreas and is different in every single patient ... thankfully Hannah has been incredibly healthy! There are precautions she takes, (and will have to for the rest of her life), to keep her healthy and they include: visits to CHaD every 2-3 months, (every 2 weeks if she gets sick), CONSTANT hand washing/sanitizing, taking a variety of pills EVERY day, (2 daily vitamins, Vitamin D 2x a day, an antibiotic every Mon., Wed. & Fri., 18-25 enzymes DAILY, (she takes 4-6 every time she eats or drinks anything with fat and protein), and Trikafta which consists of 3 pills, . She also has daily therapies including an inhaler, nebulizers and chest physical therapy. The inhaler is done 2x a day, the neb once a day, (4x a day every 28 days while being treated for her pseudamonas), PT is twice a day 20 mins each time, (but when she gets a cold, that is bumped to 3-4x a day and an antibiotic will be added).
Tremendous progress is being made towards finding a cure for CF and many with CF are now able to live LONG, healthy lives ... music to a parent's ears. Today there is still no cure, but with the money being raised by the CF Foundation and families like us, improved medical treatment and care, there is great hope!!! By walking in Great Strides and spear heading different fundraisers, we are helping to add tomorrows to the lives of people living with Cystic Fibrosis. Will you help us??? Hannah has a long way to go and a lot of fight left in her, so we are hoping you help support her and us as we fight until there is a cure! You can help by making a donation to this Great Strides fundraising campaign today!
Thank you once again, from the bottom of our hearts, for ALL the love and support you have shown to our family whether you are new to our fight or have been with us for years. We truly appreciate each and every one of you and are humbled by any and all donations, blessings and well wishesl!
