Life is a journey filled with ups, downs, lefts, rights and even loops. I believe we control the paths we take to make that journey our own. When my son was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, I realized that he was no longer in control of his journey. Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs.
And although it might not be the journey we as his parents or his family expected, he has the opportunity to make it his own with the amazing developments and discoveries of the CF Foundation.
As his father, I am excited to see my son make his paths and own his journey. Just like him, I did not plan this path in my journey but I will proudly walk this path. I walk for my son. I walk for his loved ones. I walk for the 40,000 people suffering from this disease. I walk for their loved ones
