This last year has definitely been challenging for our family like so many others. We continue to make the sacrifices needed to stay healthy, which is not easy for a teenager to do. Abby went from playing sports with her friends 7 days a week, to remote school, no sports and no social gatherings. I'm very proud of how she has handled what life has thrown her way. Don't get me wrong, there have been days of anger and frustration, but her maturity and the hope of better days ahead is getting her through.
There is one very exciting thing that will happen at the end of this year...her 16th birthday! She is beyond excited.
Abby has had a very healthy year. She continues to participate in the clinical trial for Tricafta. Her lung function is fantastic but her weight is declining. This new world we are living in has impacted her emotionally and physically, but we strive to keep things positive and help her to improve this struggle.
This will be our 12th Great Stides walk!! This event has always been so important to Abby. Seeing her friends and family come together to support her is such a powerful thing! Although we cannot walk side by side on May 15th, we can all walk together virtually. We are raising money to support the development of more life changing drugs for people living with cystic fibrosis. We're thankful everyday for the powerful medicine that has truly given our child a fighting chance at life.
We want to thank all of our past donors for your generosity, and also want to thank everyone for their continued prayers, love and support.
All our love,
The Stover family
