Over FIve years ago our family was blessed with our beautiful daughter, Isabella Oakley. Isabella is a happy five year old who lives with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). She has a great smile and laugh and her happy personality is a gift to our family. She is healthy and growing well.
That is why we are riding in the Metro DC Actavis Allergan CF Cycle for Life 2020..In the past, the event has been a ride through some of the most picturesque and scenic terrain in Leesburg,VA. This year, our team will be riding where they are! This unique event empowers participants and their supporters to take action and demonstrate their fight in finding a cure for cystic fibrosis in a tangible, emotional and powerful way. All money raised to support our team goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) is the largest private foundation that serves children and adults who live with CF. The foundation's mission is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care. CFF has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into CF research and drug development. The results of these bold investments have been astonishing. Because of CFF efforts, people with cystic fibrosis are living longer, healthier lives and pursuing dreams they before thought.
My family strongly believes that a cure will be found. I am empowered by the fact that so many people are fighting to find that cure. I ask that you support our team in that effort.
