Joan is one of approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis who struggle every day just to breathe. She administers multiple breathing treatments, takes numerous medications and manages diabetes every day just to maintain her ability to breathe and live.

Because of events like this ride that raise money to fund research, we celebrated a tremendous breakthrough for people with cystic fibrosis in late 2019. The FDA approved a ‘triple combination’ drug, Trikafta, that benefits more than 90 percent of people with CF. This new drug has had a remarkable impact on the quality of life for those lucky enough to be on it.
