Welcome to my Page
Why am I riding?
When I was diagnosed at the age of 3 with CF, my parents were told that I would not live beyond the age of 12. Fortunately, I have exceeded those expectations. 3 years ago, I was told that I was in the "end stages" of the disease and I needed to start "wrapping my head around transplant". That's pretty scary, but it was pretty much my only option. In October of 2017, I received a double lung transplant and within a year did 3 different CF Cycle events. I am tremendously grateful to the donor who gave me another chance at life.
The CF Foundation is actively working to make this disease history and I would like to help so that no child has to go through what I and the thousands of other CF patients deal with on a daily basis. Even with all the advanced treatments available today 5% of the CF population still does not have a treatment that works for them due to the type of mutation that they have. I ride to help them and for all the others with CF that still fight daily to live.
The Foundation is also investing into research that will find better treatments to prevent rejection of transplanted organs. That is always the biggest fear once a person receives an organ transplant. Hopefully with the CF Foundations help advancements will be made and transplants will have better long term outcomes.
Please help me continue to help others by making a donation for my ride.
