In 1989, two years before I was born, the CF gene was discovered. At that time, people with CF weren't living past 18. Now, I am 28 and the average life expectancy of someone with CF is now 39. It is amazing how far therapies for this disease have come, but every day still involves hours of therapy and exercise, and many, many medications and nebulizers.

I know I am blessed to have stayed healthy for so long, and I really do believe it's because i've stayed so active and have an amazing support system. That's why I will be riding 30 miles in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Cycle for Life event. If you could donate even $5, it would go so far to continue to fund research to find a cure.

 

 

 

There are approximately 30,000 people living in the United States with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I ride for them, and hope that you will support me in my efforts.

Although tremendous progress has been made in the search for a permanent cure for cystic fibrosis, the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By cycling, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis.  Will you join me?
