Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a rare, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S.  affects numerous organs in the body causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breath over time. Those with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons,friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and livenormal, healthy lives.

Sixty years ago, mostchildren with cystic fibrosis did not live long enough to attend elementaryschool, but thanks to Foundation-based research and care, many people with CFare living into their forties. Because of tremendous advancements in research, treatments,and care from support of countless donors, many people with CF are living longenough to realize their dreams of attending college, pursuing careers, gettingmarried, and having kids.

While there has beensignificant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and toomany lives are cut far too short.
