Welcome to my Page
For 2024, I have decided to do a self-created, mountain bikepacking trip to ride trails on the lower sunshine coast of British Columbia. We will drive to the ferry just north of Vancouver BC, then ride our bikes on the ferry, and ride the road to the first camp spot at the Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. We will spend the next three days riding the mountain bike trails around Sechelt: Roberts Creek and West Sechelt and make our way back to the ferry via the trail. We will head out Friday August 30 through the long weekend.
This is my thirteenth year doing a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), but it is my thirty-seventh year benefiting from the research that the CFF funds and promotes. I continue to feel so grateful for the modulator medication, Trikafta, that has helped halt the decline in my lung function. At my last CF appointment, my lung function testing showed my level to be the same as 2022. Before this, I was having a slow decline each year. The result brought tears to my eyes. Breathing well allows me to pursue my love being active outside with friends and family.
Thank you for your consideration in my fundraising efforts. There is not expectation for a donation and no amount is too small to help the CFF continue promoting innovation for improved therapies for all people affected by cystic fibrosis.
With appreciation,
Courtney
If you are curious about the route, you can find the map on this page. We decided not to do the entire route and focus on enjoying day rides on the more maintained trails near Sechelt.
