My Personal Connection to CF 

For those of you who haven't had the joy of meeting my niece Lindy, let me share a bit about this incredible little girl. At two and a half, Lindy is already a whirlwind of independence and spirit. She is rambunctious, smart, funny, and absolutely fearless.  

With her blond hair, big blue eyes, and the kindest heart, she lights up every room she enters. Lindy also has cystic fibrosis (CF), a condition that impacts her daily life in many ways. 

There is currently no cure for CF, but treatments can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. By participating in CF Cycle for Life, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.

What is "CF?"

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. It causes the body to produce thick, sticky mucus that can clog the airways and lead to severe respiratory and digestive problems. 

CF can also affect other organs and systems, leading to a range of complications. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.  

We are organizing a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to support vital research and development of new treatments. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
